How Yugoslavia was destroyed

Left to Right: Hashim Thaci, UCK (KLA) leader; Bernard Kouchner, UN Administrator of Kosovo; Gen. Sir Michael Jackson, KFOR Commander; Agim Ceku, Commander of KPC; Gen. Wesley Clark, NATO Commander....... The wars in Yugoslavia throughout the 1990s served as a justification for the continued existence of NATO in the world, and to expand American imperial interests in Eastern Europe.....It was not President Milosevic but NATO who started the war in Yugoslavia. Two Western powers, the United States and Germany, deliberately contrived to destabilize and then dismantle the country. The process was in full swing in the 1 980s and accelerated as the present decade began. These powers carefully planned, prepared and assisted the secessions which broke Yugoslavia apart. And they did almost everything in their power to expand and prolong the civil wars which began in Croatia and then continued in Bosnia-Herzegovina. They were involved behind the scenes at every stage of the crisis. Under the guise of "fostering democracy", the way was being opened to the recolonization of the Balkans......The NATO-Yugoslavia war should be understood in the context of the major developments that have shaped politics in the Balkans and internationally through the 1980’s and 1990’s. Prime among these developments are: the process of "economic globalization," by which international capital has imposed a neo-liberal agenda on every region of the world, and placed much of the Third World and the former socialist countries under the tutelage of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank; the crisis of state-communism in Central and Eastern Europe (in large part activated by the adoption "market reforms"), which has opened the way for the establishment by the US and its European allies of a new global hegemony; the deepening capitalist crisis (reflected in the collapse of the Asian economies, and the profit stagnation in Europe), which has accelerated the rush of corporate capital to commercially exploit new areas of the world and find new sources of cheap labor; and the renewed assertion by the US as a global force, as the leading capitalist nation and the prime military defender of the so-called "free market."At stake in the Balkans are the lives of millions of people. Macroeconomic reform combined with military conquest and UN "peace keeping" has destroyed livelihoods and made a joke of the right to work. It has put basic needs such as food and shelter beyond the reach of many. It has degraded culture and national identity. In the name of global capital, borders have been redrawn, legal codes rewritten, industries destroyed, financial and banking systems dismantled, social programs eliminated. No alternative to global capital, be it Yugoslav "market socialism" or "national capitalism", will be allowed to exist.....1]http://www.theglobalistreport.com/oil-geopolitics-balkans/...2]http://www.freenations.freeuk.com/gc-53.html.......3]http://globalresearch.ca/articles/DCH109A.html ... ...4]http://rpc.senate.gov/releases/1 ....5]http://www.wsws.org/articles/1999/apr1999/kla-a10.shtml....6]http://www.michaelparenti.org/yugoslavia.html..

  1. but why was it necessary to snipe at people walking around sarajevo? believe me, i know that overall there is a lot of bad history, and that a peace settlement for Bosnia that shared sovereignty was agreed then aborted by the Bosniak side. But what were you Serbs afraid of? Did they attack you? (this time i mean...)why the siege of Sarajevo?

    1. @diogenes29 januari 2013 18:18....There was a war, man? Bin Laden, himself, was a regular visitor in the office of Bosnia’s President Alija Izetbegovic in early 1993....Several thousand foreign mujahedin from the wider Islamic world fought on the Bosnian Army’s side during the 1992-1995 war...The hidden “Islamic jihad” in Bosnia was covered up, because this suited the needs of interested parties and it was not productive to show America, Alija Izetbegovic, Al-Qaeda, the global jihadist network and other nations working hand in hand. Therefore, the “Muslim victim card” was played up; history was re-written. The Serbians, who had been the victims of Islamic jihad under the Ottomans and then suffered so brutally under the Ustasha/Nazi/Islamic collaboration during World War II, were once more the victim...Izetbegovic’s Islamic Declaration made it clear that he supported a pan-Islamic state which would include vast areas of land and link Europe with the Muslim world in the Middle East, Central Asia, North Africa, and to nations like Indonesia. In his views “There can be no peace or harmony between the ‘Islamic religion’ and non-Islamic social and political institutions.” Before the war broke out in 1992, it is clear that the Muslim leader understood full well about which direction he wanted Bosnia to go. Izetbegovic visited Iran before the conflict erupted and asked for support. Izetbegovic stated that “He who rises against Islam will reap nothing but hate and resistance” and the Bosnian Orthodox Christians knew full well that he was not interested in sharing power or a democratic nation which was based on pluralism. On the contrary Izetbegovic was warning the Christians to accept dhimmitude and Islamization. The willful blindness of Western elites, the dishonest and mendacious representations of Bosnia and its war presented by intellectuals, academics, entertainers and journalists, decisively influenced the course of the conflict, to the benefit of radical Islam.”During the 1990s war, the media clearly sided with the anti-Serbian forces---namely the Croats, Bosnia Muslims and the Albanian Muslims of Kosovo…World sympathy for the government of Izetbegovic has been built mainly through horror stories of brutal Serbian attacks on unarmed civilians in Sarajevo. One of the most gruesome was an attack on an open-air market that left 68 people dead on Feb. 5, 1994. A UN analysis of the crater showed that the Izetbegovic regime’s forces were responsible for the explosion at the market. (Reuters, Feb. 18, 1994)Later, the UN publicly released a crater analysis of another shell that exploded, wounding a child, as proof that Izetbegovic’s Bosnian army had fired on its own civilians to gain sympathy. (New York Times Nov. 10, 1994)......For the first time, a senior U.N. official has admitted the existence of a secret U.N. report that blames the Bosnian Moslems for the February 1994 massacre of Moslems at a Sarajevo market…The 1995 “Second Market Massacre”:High-ranking French and other Western officials believed the Muslims responsible; after having received that account from government ministers and two generals, French magazine editor Jean Daniel put the question directly to Prime Minister Edouard Balladur: “‘They [i.e., the Muslims] have committed this carnage on their own people?’ I exclaimed in consternation. ‘Yes,’ confirmed the Prime Minister without hesitation, ‘but at least they have forced NATO to intervene. “‘ ["No more lies about Bosnia," Le Nouvel Observateur, 8/31/95.....
