The World Tourism Organisation views Russia as a country with great potential for tourism development. Russia, a county that spans 11 timezones and two continents, is the largest country on earth. Within this gigantic region lie the volcanosand geysers of Kamchatka, the Altai and snow-capped Caucasus mountains, the Siberian taiga, lake Baikal, the beatiful Volga and the Golden Ring. Combined with her art, architecture and culture, Russia is the place where the dreams of any adventurous traveller come true! The world has no idea how fantastic Russia is.                                      1] http://www.360cities.net/image/2009-filtered-2#0.00,0.00,70.0                                                                         2] http://www.360cities.net/image/palace_square#0.00,0.00,70.0                                                                          3] http://www.360cities.net/image/jan-jack#119.31,-6.58,70.0                                                                                             4] http://www.360cities.net/area/moscow-russia                                                                                                       5] http://www.360cities.net/image/the-international-night-of-museums-pokrovsky-cathedral-moscow#56.90,-36.60,75.3                                                                                                                                          6] http://www.360cities.net/image/the-international-night-of-museums-pokrovsky-cathedral-moscow#56.90,-36.60,75.3                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           http://www.shutterstock.com/language.nl/s/Petersburg/search.html   Saint Petersburg/Sankt-Peterburg; is Russia's second largest city, with a population of 4.7 million perched at the eastern tip of of the Baltic Sea and the Neva River. The city was formerly known as Petrograd, and later Leningrad. This is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places on earth, and virtually any building in thelarge historic center, threaded with canals dotted with baroque bridges, can be considered an attraction—and indeed, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is a magical city, with a long list of major attractions. Its Hermitage Museum, housed in the Winter Palace of the Romanov Dynasty, is both one of the world's greatest and oldest collections of art, treasure, and antiquities, and one of its most beautiful buildings. http://www.flickr.com/photos/riarotscheidt/sets/72157607201104238/with/2862037589/

Russia’s version of Silicon Valley — an "innovation city" built from scratch on the outskirts of Moscow — is finally starting to take shape. The project, popularly known as Skolkovo, has already lined up over $1 billion in financing from Western tech giants such as Cisco and Nokia as well as the official government support of both Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and President Dmitri Medvedev. As Steve Jobs pointed out, the best tech hubs tend to be built from a strong organic base, and Moscow is blessed in many ways with all the advantages of a tech hub like Silicon Valley. There has always been a thriving creative class in Russia’s capital — regardless of the political regime. Moreover, the Russians have historically excelled at computer science and other technical disciplines. Keep in mind that the “Sputnik Moment” for America came largely at the hands of the brightest creative minds in Moscow. Walk around the center of Moscow and it is easy to envision a bright future for the city. There is an abundance of wealth there, and if this wealth could be funneled into the tech sector, one imagines a new generation of Russian technology entrepreneurs taking root. There are billboards in Moscow not just for the latest European luxuries — but also for events like nanotechnology conferences and science festivals. This is being accelerated by very strong expansion in consumer spending, with the potential for this to be leveraged up considerably due to the current low levels of penetration of consumer credit, strong growth in B2B sales and large potential in regional cities beyond the traditional powerhouses of Moscow and St Petersburg.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEWYtiX5ssc&feature=related

The Sapsan is a high-speed electric Moscow train of the Velaro RUS series produced by Siemens Transportation Systems, and capable of a maximum speed of 250 km/h. The train was named after the fastest bird on the planet. The peregrine falcon, known in Russian as the sapsan, can reach speeds of over 322 km/h, or 90 m/s. Each train has 10 carriages, of which two are first class and eight are second class. Seven wonders of Russia - Baikal lake     .Baikal lake located at Irkutsk oblast and Buryat republic of Russia .Lake Baikal is the most famous of all natural wonders of Russia and often referred to as the pearl of Siberia. It is not only the deepest and oldest (25 million years) lake of the world, but also an excellent travel destination for those who want to spend their holiday in stunning surroundings of the Siberian wilderness. Lake Baikal offers hot springs, helicopter tours to remote wilderness areas, diving, off-road expeditions, hunting, fishing, mountain climbing, snowcat skiing, heli-skiing, rafting… Lake Baikal was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.    -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRrFcWDDU1U&feature=player_embedded#! If you love deserts, mountain lakes and peaks, waterfalls, warm seas, vast expanses of steppe, dense forests, the wildest or the quietest rivers, edelweisses or daisies, heat or cold, ancient East or modern buildings, mushrooms or fish, hunting or hiking, – then Russia is the country you need to go to. http://www.gotoaltay.com/about/whattodo/Sayany mountains, Buryatia, Russia trip view 1.......Kronotsky, nature reserve, a unique place where one could admire untouched nature of Kamchatka .............Summer on Kurile Lake. While cities such as Moscow and St Petersburg are filled with their own treasures, the wild and uninhabited parts of Russia offer endless opportunities for adventure vacations. In the last two decades, these options have expanded in number and popularity. Karelia is a strikingly beautiful land of “midnight sun”, the land of white nights. Forests, lakes and rivers of Karelia give a perfect opportunity for development of different types of tourism: hunting, fishing, safari, rafting, etc. Karelia offers various tours, during which you will pass historical monuments, deserted villages, self-made fords and fortifications of World War II. http://www.discoverrus.com/Russia tours. Deep in the heart of the Siberian wilderness, covered by impassable taiga forests and high mountain peaks, Altai is one of the top attractions of the Russian wilderness, and an incredible place for outdoor adventures from rafting, hiking and mountain climbing to fishing, horse-riding and many others. http://themoscownews.com/arts/20100909/188035267.html................http://www.panoramicearth.com/7427/Kuray/Kuray

There are many reasons of it, but the main one is that Ural is a very "water" region. Such big amount of rivers, lakes and streams is hard to be found in any other part of Russia. Every amateur will find something for oneself. Like in other Ural regions rafting is a very widespread king of tourism here. Most popular raftings are tours along Chusovaya and Koyva Rivers. River Chusovaya is the most famous and picturesque river of Middle Ural. Its waters used to be one of the main transport arteries of Ural, which allowed merchants to transport its goods in wooden barges. This is the only river to flow on both sides of the world. Its origins are in Asia on the eastern slope of the Urals, ?? it crosses the slopes and finishes its way in Ural mountain ridges, flowing into Kama.Limestone rocks, giants " STONES" make the river even more beautiful.Mountains and rocks are called in Ural " stones ", there are about 200 " stones " along Chusovaya River. One, who ever visited Chusovaya River, will never forget monumentous rocks-giants, brilliant night stars.http://www.gotoaltay.com/tour/rafting/  A Tuapse canyon in the Caucasus region, near the Black Sea-http://www.discoverrus.com/index.htm.........Chuysky Trakt is a trunk road in the Novosibirsk Region, Russia. Its length is 953 kilometres and its width is 7 metres. This highway was constructed in the early 1930s by gulag inmates. Along the way there are so many beautiful things to see.
However, there is a handful of ski resorts in Russia with true international pulling power - enough power in fact to host the 2014 Winter Olympics. So if you didn't already know about skiing or snowboarding in Russia, you're going to be hearing a lot more about it in the next few years. The Caucusus Mountains in Southern Russia are home to what is arguably Europe's tallest mountain - Mount Elbrus. At 5,633 metres (18,480 feet), it's got nearly a kilometre on Mont Blanc and is always covered in snow. Not only does it allow year-round skiing and snowboarding in Russia, it might just become Europe's last stand in the fight against global warming.  http://www.un.int/russia/new/MainRoot/newrussiaen/mountskien.htmSiberian mountain.......Palace of the Russian tsar Alexey

.The International Olympic Committee has chosen Sochi to be the host city of the 2014 Winter Games; the first time Russia has hosted the Winter Games. With a population 329,481, Sochi is one of the smallest cities to ever host the Winter Games.Sochi has always been and remains one of the most popular summer resorts in Russia. It is almost the only Russian city in a subtropical location. About two million people visit Greater Sochi each summer.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qln3xLT-B8MSochi, Russia's Black Sea Riveria - a popular destination for Russian capital and tourismSochi Beach arbour-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-D__CJnmBsThe Sochi Arboretum
